I know I did sci-fi last time, and this time I wanted to do fantasy. Specifically I wanted to do a feature on elves. After all, how hard could it be to find six excellent pictures of elves on deviantArt to feature in my journal? Surprisingly hard, it turned out. There are a lot of pictures of elves, sure, just not very many good ones. Really, people, just getting a stock photograph of a woman and photoshopping her ears to make them look pretty doesn't exactly count as art in my book... I don;t often go searching through dA for stuff, but searching for pictures of elves just depressed me. Come on, there's more to fantasy than World of Warcraft. Use your imaginations!!
So, I ditched the fantasy theme and went with spaceships instead. Mainly because I just love spaceships. What follows are six superb examples of spaceship art. What makes them stand out isn't just the excellent ship design, but also the stunning composition, and the beautiful lighting. In science fiction the spaceships are often as much a character in the story as the people themselves. Think of the Galactica, the Millennium Falcon or the Enterprise...they all have their own personality.

Plus, here's a bonus pic, not a spaceship, but I just like it so much I thought I'd feature it too...
