Artist's Comments
It's rare that I genuinely have a set of clear influences that have melded together to provide the inspiration for a piece of artwork. Usually I just see a picture that I'd like to turn into one of my inked pics and that's that...
However, this came about through a whole mix of stuff...the textured linework of this Aerosmith album cover ([link]), the photography of the subject herself  , and the music I was listening to at the time, the new Gn'R album, Chinese Democracy (which you can listen to in full on their myspace - [link]). Gn'R have always been my favourite band, since I first heard them when I was 15, and their music has always inspired me. I think this confluence of influences has led to a piece that surpases my usual work, both in quality of technique and in artistic expression. |

Nice use of new brushes there. ^_^ You've used just enough, but not too much to have overused them.
The red blotches looked almost like falling petals in the preview, and I still get that sense in full view.
